This place is located on 47 Queen St W, Brampton. This place is steps away from Brampton Innovation District Go. This is an Indian, Chinese & Nepalese cuisine restaurant in a casual environment. I had the opportunity to visit unplanned late on a weekday and it was a great experience!

Historical Context

Although the restaurant has many kinds of food, I am choosing to cover a specific dish I ordered: momos. Momos is one of the staple foods in Nepalese cuisine. In my naive term, momos would be similar to a variation of “dumplings”. Traditionally steamed but could be fried or pan-fried stuffed with fillings of meat, vegetables, and spices. Momos is believed to have originated in Nepal and Tibet in the 14th century. Momo is one of the popular cuisines that Nepal and Tibet are known for. Although this restaurant seems to combine many of the random countries’ cuisines together at first, geographically they are all close to each other. This may lead to many of the cuisines sharing similar characteristics or influence than you may have imagined as China, Nepal, and India are all neighboring countries sharing the border.

Value & Vibe

Price: The price is pretty standard. Its not cheap but also not very expensive. We have ordered momo mixed platter which includes 2 pieces each of chilly, steamed, and fried as well as 4 tandoori momos for $19.99. We have also ordered Chiken Tikka Masala for $18.99.

Atmosphere: We went very late right before closing at around 8:30PM on a Thursday. The street was not busy and the restaurant only have a couple of tables. However, the server was attentive and the restaurant definitely has a friendly vibe.

Taste

First, the mixed platter was a great choice as it allows you to try the different sauces as well as the different texture between steamed and fried. I also found the stuffed meat inside to be well seasoned and really bring out great flavor. In addition, the sauces also added another layer of complexity to the flavor as you can mix and match the sauce to try out with different momos. I would highly recommend the mixed platter to anyone that would like to try the momos.

The chiken tikka masala was also great! It has great flavor and texture. As usual, it goes well with garlic naan. No complaints on this dish.

Overall surprisingly even with the different cuisines that this restaurant offers at the same time, the food quality was great as well as the atmosphere.
